A LOT OF people have been commenting on how coldthe weather has been in Meander Valley this winter.

Of course, the final figures are not in as winter isn’t over. But a call to the weather bureau has confirmed that it has been unusually cold - a lot colder than normal winter temperatures.

We’ve had the longest consecutive run of cold nights since 2006. And 2006 was an extremely cold year.

Runs of 5 – 6 or 7 consecutive nights of very cold weather and clear skies combined with light winds has produced frost after frost.

Each day, on average its been 1.5 degrees colder than last year.
