All three Deloraine teams that played Bracknell in their recent home ground fixture got closer to gaining a finals position.

Roos whitewash Redlegs

THE DELORAINE Kangaroos played 3 very important games up against the Bracknell Redlegs at the Deloraine & Districts Community Bank Sports Oval at the end of July.

U/19’s got off to a verygood start with an inspirational come-from-behind win against 3rd placed Bracknell.

The young Roos were 16 points down at 3/4 time and got up by 2 points in a thriller.

Blayke Lehman kicked 3 goals and Aaron Walker 2 in aBest on Ground performance with Aron Donohue, Adam Berne, Jack Durack and Ashdyn Heathcote also in the best.

Inspired by the U/19 result, the Reserves team came out all guns blazing and put the game beyond doubt by half time, being up by 52 points.

Matty Stewart and JeromeWhiteley both kicked 4 goalsfor the Roos with Josh Smith,Mitch Kenney and Dean Kasper amongst the best, in the 92 point win.

The main game was a much anticipated one, as it was a very important game for both Clubs. Bracknell to keep their finals chances alive and Deloraine for two reasons.

The first, to stay up in the top two and, secondly, the huge milestone of Club captainBradley Crowden playing his 250th Senior game.

Brad ‘Bub’ Crowden has been the captain of the senior team for the past 5 years and has been a true leader both on and off the field over many years.

The game was very up and down with The Roos being up at half time by 20 points. Bracknell clawed their way back after half time wit scores level at 3/4 time.

The last quarter was all Deloraine, with the boys really stepping it up and playing great team footy, running out 39 point winners.

Tyson Gardam and Rulla Kelly-Mansell both kicked 3 each with Tyson, Matty Mitchell and Coach Rory Mansell among the best.
