BUSINESSES IN Deloraine are planning an Australia Day celebration on the 26th of January.

Shops will be open and the street will be coming alive in Deloraine on this public holiday.

“There will be Artisans in Action at various studios on Emu Bay Rd”, said Jeanette from The Alpaca Shop.

“I’ve walked up and down the street asking shop keepers if they’ll open on that day and I’ve had a really enthusiastic response. There’s networking in process and ideas flowing to make the day worth coming to Deloraine for.”

As an added attraction, the Little Laneway Fringe Festival will be happening again between Seppenfelts and The Empire Hotel.

If you missed it during The Craft Fair now it is your chance to catch Live Performing Arts in the laneway and spilling out onto the street.

Musicians, poets, buskers, performers are all welcome.

Call Seppenfelts beforehand on 6362 4242 to get your name on the programme or keep your ears and eyes open for the open mic sessions and blackboard concerts.

If numbers are sufficient, Anthony form Keep the Beat will run a drumming workshop.

“We had such a good response from the Little Laneway event during the Craft Fair, that we’re happy for an excuse to do it all again,” said Isabel from Seppenfelts.

“We’re celebrating good times ahead and giving the opportunity for our talented people to strut their stuff.”

Have a drink or a feed from The Amble Inn or The Empire Hotel, sit back and relax to live local performances or bring your instrument or piece of writing to perform in a really friendly, welcoming and non-threatening environment.

This initiative is supported by the Meander Valley Business Association.
