TAX TIME 2016 is underway and the ATO has opened its Tax Help centres in community centres across Tasmania.

Assistant Commissioner Graham Whyte said that 22 volunteers from 17 community centres across Tasmania will be supporting people who need assistance completing their tax returns this year.

“We know that for many Australians doing their own tax return can be a bit difficult, that’s why we have Tax Help,” Mr Whyte said.

Tax Help is available until 31st October. To check eligibility, go to www.ato.gov.au/taxhelp. For your nearest Tax Help centre, phone 13 28 61.
