JULY 2017

THE MEANDER Valley Business Association, in consultation with community and businesses, have been working for the last two years to replace two off-ramp highway signs at the northern and western entries into Deloraine.

On Thursday 22nd June, the new signs were finally installed.  Drivers are now greeted by a quirky bunch of colourful native animals encouraging them to leave the highway and visit the beautiful town of Deloraine.

The unique signs are prints of original watercolours painted by Lucinda Hunnam and were designed to grab attention and to promote Deloraine as a friendly town.

Tourism Northern Tasmania’s brand values of “boutique, eclectic and playful” were kept in mind during the design process together with Tourism Tasmania’s marketing campaign of “Go Behind the Scenery”, which encourages promotions in a fresh and unique way.

It is hoped that the signs will become attractions, with the sign to the west providing plenty of car parking space for photo opportunities.

It has taken many volunteer hours to complete the project and the former Business Association would like to thank Meander Valley Council, Rotary Deloraine and the Great Western Tiers Tourism Association for funding support.
