DECEMBER 2017

GOING BY the artist name RabidDog008 (Royce Pentaghast), will have an exhibition of his works at Pixels, Deloraine Digital Art Gallery for the month of December.

“I’ve been drawing for most of my life. At home, I have a huge collection of sketchbooks from over the years, filled with pencil sketches of characters I created, or some of my favourites from books, movies, or comics I liked,” said Royce.

After winning an iPad in 2011 he set about using it creatively and, after trying out a few different drawing apps, he stumbled onto one called Sketch Club, which he now uses to create all his images.

“The iPad is just like a digital version of those old sketch books I used to carry around in my bag. Being smaller and portable means I’m not constrained to drawing at a desk with a tablet and computer. Because of it, I’ve been able to push my art even further than I thought, continuing to draw some of my favourite characters from pop culture, develop my own, and create a small business around them.  Currently I use it to develop promotional artworks for Mania Tas Pop Culture Market, as well as my radio/online audio series The Misadventures of Agnetha Deveaux,” explains Royce.

30 of Royce’s digital images will be on display at Pixels from 10.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Saturday. Pixels is located inside the Online Centre at 21 West Parade Deloraine.

All images will be for sale as printed versions on paper or canvas.
