DECEMBER 2017 | Martin Hay

IT IS with great pleasure that we would like to announce the opening date for the Kooparoona Niara Cultural Trail.

The day of ceremony and celebration is Saturday the 16th of December. We encourage attendees to gather at the Train Park near the rail bridge at 11.00 a.m. for proceedings to start from 11:30 a.m.

The opening day will include traditional Aboriginal ceremonies, speeches and a procession to the Yarning Circle where lunch and refreshments will be available.

All are welcome and people are advised to bring a portable seat or picnic blanket.

We thank the local community for their patience in completing the Trail and will be working diligently to install the remaining components before the opening.

We look forward to seeing the community there on the day to share in the official launch of a Tasmanian Aboriginal Cultural experience and a great addition to the riverside walkway.
