FOLLOWING THE retirement of the St Patrick’s Festival committee, a steering group has been formed to develop plans for the rebirth of the next Festival.

As March 2018 is so close, it was decided not to run the Festival this coming year. Instead, the next Westbury St Patrick’s Festival will be held in March 2019, which will give the new group a full year to plan and develop a successful event.

It was agreed that a concert be held at Westbury on St Patrick's Day, Saturday 17th March 2018 and that this would be a valuable fund raiser for the 2019 event.

The new steering group was formed at a public meeting attended by over 30 people, who shared ideas to help shape the future of the festival.

Plans for the revived festival include returning to the Village Green, free entry and a focus on Irish/Celtic Folk tradition and historical / rural activities.
