One week at a time
FRIENDS, FAMILIES, supporters and past players gathered together on Saturday 22 June, to celebrate Deloraine Football Club's 125 years in the game.
The Senior Kangaroos team battled Bracknell, wearing replicas of their 1979 football jumpers.
The jumpers pay tribute to the last time that the Deloraine seniors claimed the premiership with an unexpected victory over Perth, in the Esk Football Association Grand Final.
Now part of the Northern Tasmanian Football Association, members of the 1979 winning side gathered in Deloraine for the club’s 40th and 125th anniversaries.
Despite the loss on the day, the Senior Kangaroos remain hopeful about winning their next grand final before too long.
In the meantime they continue to hold their place in the community as a strong team with a proud tradition.
