‘EVERY FREEZING moment was worth it’ when the Rotary Club of Deloraine raffle of a large basket of chocolates, sold mainly at the local supermarket, raised just over $1000.
$1500 was donated to Kimberley Fire Brigade with the extra money raised by Deloraine Rotary Club of Deloraine run- ning the Tasmanian Craft Fair.
The winning raffle ticket was won by K. Griffin. The basket of chocolates was originally a Kimberley Fire Brigade raffle prize won by a Rotary Club member who realised Rotary could raise more funds for the Fire Brigade by raffling it again. Rotary members added a few extra chocolate treats.
Members, family and friends of the Rotary Club handed the cheque over at the Kimberley Fire Station and were treated to a tour of the station and the truck. The Fire Brigade happily answered questions. Everyone then went to Kimberley Warm Springs for a barbeque. Cliff and Lindy Norton supplied home grown raspberries and cream.
Thank you to all involved, it really was a great result because of the support of the local community.
