Military on the move

Vietnam Veterans and the Military Motor Group Tasmania and Vietnam Veterans have been touring around Meander Valley for the last weekend of October.

The Vietnam Veterans M.C. Australia took advantage of some fine weather to hit the back roads around Meander Valley on their Dice Run.

The group on 50 odd bikes, feasted at the Bracknell Hotel, before discreetly announcing their departure and heading south.

The MMG comprises members all over the state who meet for long weekend road trips.

The vehicles are made for the outdoors so the group prefers rural roads and is not adverse to a bit of mud plugging.

Based in Mole Creek for the weekend they were spotted tucking into burgers at the Meander Bridge Café.

The group were driving a Vietnam era Landrover S2 Ambulance, WW2 Willys Jeeps, and the unusual British Austin Champs which run Rolls Royce engines with five speed gearbox with reverse lever (so five forward and five reverse).
