Carrick crash fatality

A multi-vehicle crash on the Bass Highway on March 25 claimed the life of a man in his 50s and left another fighting for his life.

Emergency services were called to the accident at Carrick at 6:20am where a truck, a motorcycle and three other vehicles were caught in the pile-up. 

The driver of the truck was uninjured, however, occupants of two of the other vehicles sustained non-life-threatening injuries. 

The motorcyclist died at the scene, and another was airlifted to the Royal Hobart Hospital in critical condition. 

Representatives from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator are investigating the incident.
