On Tuesday June 7, Giant Steps Tasmania received a visit from representatives of the Probus Club of Deloraine and the Rotary Club of Deloraine.

The esteemed guests were met by the Principal, Mr Tim Chugg and School Captains Max Preece and Joshua Lowe.

They received some beautifully handmade quilts and a rug that their makers kindly wished to donate to Giant Steps Tasmania.

The superbly crafted quilts are a gift from Felicity Bonner, an exhibitor at the Tasmanian Craft Fair.

The knitted rug was a gift from a former worker at Ashley Youth Detention Centre, who wished to donate the rug to their school.

These items will be a great addition to Giant Steps Tasmania’s soon to be built ‘Snoezelen Room’, where children can have some relaxing and therapeutic quiet time when needed.

Giant Steps Tasmania wish to extend their gratitude to Probus Club of Deloraine, the Rotary Club of Deloraine and the most talented artists for their support in providing the best possible resources for children with autism.
