Rotarians exercise generosity in Deloraine

Tony Jones (Immediate Past President Deloraine Rotary), Roy Axelsen, Nadine Ozols (CEO, Aged Care Deloraine), Abbey Mott (Lifestyle and Leisure Officer), Jennifer Axelsen and Karmen Norris (Lifestyle and Leisure Coordinator).

Rotary Deloraine has donated a seated exercise machine for Aged Care Deloraine to support residents maintain and improve their health.

The machine is designed for use by people in wheel chairs and limited movement to exercise  their arms and legs simultaneously.

The project was prompted by a serious car accident in which long-term Rotarian Roy Axelsen and his wife Jennifer were involved.

Jennifer resides at Grenoch and uses a seated exercise machine to stimulate circulation, enhance muscle tone and improve mobility.

She generously shares her machine with other residents.

Rotary Deloraine has now purchased another machine for general use by residents at Kanangra.

Rotary Deloraine started fundraising through a Mega Garage Sale last year.

They were wonderfully supported by Lions Deloraine with a $500 donation, then a Rotary Pratt Foundation grant, and a Rotary Tasmania Community Care (a District Service Committee) grant.

A huge thank you to the community of Deloraine for donating goods for the garage sale and then coming to buy items.
