Deloraine Kangaroos Football Club welcomed their new Player Manager and coordinator of Coaching, Michael Routledge last month.

Michael started his playing career at North Launceston before he headed to Lilydale where he was part of a premiership team. 

Michael always aspired to a coaching role and got those opportunities at both Ringarooma and Evandale where he guided his charges to grand final appearances. 

Michael has played under and worked with some exceptional coaches along his football journey. 

He is looking forward to being part of the Deloraine coaching team. 

Michael said, “I get the most enjoyment working with young players and seeing the year on year improvement. 

“We have lots of work to get where we want to, but early signs are great that we are heading towards lots of improvement!”

The Kangaroos also welcomed back some local talent - Matthew “Muncher” Griffin, Brodie “Froff” Donohue, Ryan Lowe and Matty Allen as assistant coach of the reserves for the 2023 season.
