JUNE 2016

WINTERFIRE IS a Deloraine community event celebrating winter using the theme of fire.

Held on a Saturday close to the shortest day, this is an evening of fun and involvement for all age groups.

After last year’s successful evening, the 2016 event promises to be another night of fun, 15 fire pots will provide warmth and a place to toast the marshmallows.

There will be a choice of different food options, gallons of hot chocolate and of course, fireworks and a giant bonfire.

There will be song, music and dance, fire twirlers, drummers and belly dancers.

As well as poetry, storytelling and a large lantern parade.

This is a real community event with Fire Brigade, SES, Apex, Lions, Show Society, Meander Valley Radio and Arts Deloraine all working together.

Join the fun on Saturday 25th June at the Deloraine Showgrounds.

The gate will open at 4.30, entertainment from 4.45, fireworks at 7.00 followed by a lantern parade and the lighting of the bonfire.

So rug up warmly, bring a torch and meet your friends and family to celebrate winter and support your local community groups.

WinterFire now has a Facebook page to keep you fully informed.
