TUESDAY MORNINGS in Hadspen are once again filled with fun and laughter as the local playgroup at the Uniting Church on Clare Street has started up for 2017.

With welcoming parents and smiling children playing with all manner of toys, the atmosphere is ideal for any parent wishing to introduce their children to new friends and fun activities.

Coordinator Anna Danziger, told how the playgroup almost fell apart years ago when only two regular parents were left to operate it. Since then it has picked up and continued on.

“So far this year we’ve been able to get a lot more parents turn up. This is just a nice group,” she said.

“There is a huge range of toys, bikes, trampolines, arts and crafts, pretty much anything you can think of that children under five would want to play with.

“Once a term we do an outing. In the past we’ve gone to Kid’s Paradise, the City Park and Airtime 360.”

The Playgroup is not just for mothers. Fathers and even grandparents are encouraged to attend and help.

Hadspen Playgroup is associated with Playgroup Tasmania, a not-for-profit organisation who have been supporting, resourcing and establishing playgroups throughout Tasmania for nearly 40 years.
