LIFELINE WILL hold a free information workshop on suicide bereavement at Deloraine House on 13 May.

The two-hour session, What do I say, what do I do, aims to increase understanding of suicide bereavement and provide basic support skills to family members and supporters, community members and service providers.

Gayle Carroll from Lifeline said the workshop looks at the services offered by the StandBy Support After Suicide service and will provide information about crisis, trauma and grief.

‘We will examine why suicide bereavement can be different to other sudden losses and discuss the additional challenges that it raises’, she said.

‘The main focus is to encourage people not to shy away from supporting someone going through this very difficult time.

‘The takeaway message is that we can help people navigate their loss and move toward healing, not trying to fix the unfixable.’

To attend, contact Deloraine House by 5 May.
