FEDERAL MEMBER for Lyons, Brian Mitchell, is calling for eligible, not-for-profit community organisations in his electorate to submit expressions of interest. Up to $132,450 is available as part of the 2021 Volunteer Grants round.

‘Volunteers across Lyons freely give their time to support local organisations in a variety of ways, and make an extraordinary contribution to our community’, said Mr Mitchell.

Grants of $1,000 to $5,000 will help volunteer organisations buy equipment, reimburse volunteers’ fuel, transport or training costs, or support promotional activities.

Until 29 April 2021, each Federal MP is able to nominate eligible organisations to apply for funding in their electorate.

Organisations must meet the eligibility criteria.

In May 2021, the Department of Social Services will send an application form to nominated organisations to apply for the funding.

Successful applicants will be announced in November 2021.

More information is available by contacting the office of Brian Mitchell MP on (03) 6263 3721 or by visiting the Australian Government GrantConnect website at www. grants.gov.au.
