Meander Valley’s much anticipated pump track on Alveston Drive in Deloraine was officially opened on Monday 19 September 2022.

Initiated by the Meander Valley Youth Committee and the Lions Club of Deloraine Inc., completion of the project has been greatly anticipated by the community and Council alike.

Designed and built by mountain biking champion Shaun O’Connor, the Meander Valley Pump Track is the first in Australia to be built using full GPS mapping.

Pump tracks are specially designed with a sequence of loops and berms that enable riders to generate momentum and perform manoeuvres with minimal pedaling.

They are a great way to improve bike handling skills, balance, coordination and confidence before heading off to more challenging bike trails in Railton, the West Tamar or Derby.

The pump track has been completed with funding from the Tasmanian Government’s Community Sport and Recreation Grant program and Meander Valley Council.
