NETBALL FINALS were fought and won in September with the Meander Valley area coming home with some bragging rights.

The Deloraine Devils division five team, the Demons, have capped off a spectacular season, coming away with a premiership win against Generation Netball Club 46-27 at the Silverdome.

The Demons won the first quarter and built from it throughout the game.

Club President, Taneil Bloomfield, said that the girls got a good, convincing win.

“It was a fantastic way to celebrate the clubs 10th anniversary, defending the title,” she said.

Player Reanna Bowman was awarded player of the match, while Natasha Whiteley was awarded the runner up Best and Fairest player for the division five season.

The club is holding a 10th anniversary celebration and presentation dinner on the 15th of October at the Deloraine Football Club.

Another local club, the Meander Valley Suns division ContinuedAnother local club, the Meander Valley Suns division four and nine teams in their debut year also came away with premiership wins.

Club President, Kellie Gallagher, said they are extremely proud of the club as a whole. “For our first season in the NTNA we never dreamed we would come away with one premiership, let alone two.”

She said, “We aren’t taking much of a break, pre-season will be starting shortly and we will soon be recruiting with the aim of entering 3-4 teams.

“The girls are extremely keen and motivated and looking forward to getting back on the court for hopefully another successful season.

Division four player Ebony Brewer won best and fairest while Sophie Lee was awarded player of the match.

In Division nine, Hannah Marshall was also awarded player of the match.
